See Eagles in Indiana This Winter

November 2, 2010 By Jessica Walker

You don’t have to have an eagle’s eye to spot the regal birds out and about this winter. While bald eagles were once on the country’s endangered species list, they have regained their numbers and can be seen throughout Indiana during a few weeks in the winter.

Bald Eagle Watching in Indiana

Enjoy a whole weekend of eagle watching at Eagle Pointe Resort in Bloomington from Feb. 4-6, 2011, during the 11th annual Eagle Watch Weekend.

Turkey Run State Park in western Indiana also has a weekend devoted to the birds in early February. Other places to see these majestic creatures include Salamonie Lake in Andrews, Ind., or Patoka Lake in the southern part of the state.
