Indiana Wine Pairings

Wine and dine along the Indiana Wine Trail with Spring into the Valley, one of the trail’s annual events, slated for April 12-13, 2014. This celebration pairs breads and cheeses with some of the state’s best wines at six wineries along the trail in southeastern Indiana, a region that claims the first successful winery in America back in the early 1800s.

The half-dozen trail partners are Ertel Cellars Winery and Restaurant in Batesville, The Ridge Winery in Vevay, Stream Cliff Farm Winery in Commiskey, and Lanthier Winery, Madison Vineyards Estate Winery and the Thomas Family Winery, all in Madison. Each winery has its own menu.

In past years, Madison Vineyards featured a spring vegetable cheese spread with French breads and flavorful wine. The Thomas Family Winery put an Italian spin on things with onion marmalade focaccia and Asiago cheese.

Spring into the Valley is the second in a series of events along the Indiana Wine Trail throughout the year. To learn more about this event and others, visit www.indianawinetrail.com.
