Indiana is home to many eggscellent poultry farms. Check out these facts about Hoosier chickens.

- A broiler refers to a chicken raised for meat, while a layer is a chicken raised for egg production.
- Chicks are baby chickens. Female chickens are called pullets until old enough to lay eggs, then they become hens. Male chickens are called roosters.
- Chickens lay different colored eggs depending on their breed, but regardless of color, the eggs have the same nutritional benefits.
