The Indiana Bicentennial Torch Relay celebrates the state’s birthday in a way that literally touches every county in the state.
Encompassing 92 counties and 2,300 miles over five weeks, the relay features the passing of the torch, symbolizing the ignition of future generations. It will also feature other modes of transportation pointing to Indiana’s past, including farm equipment, a racecar, horse and wagon, and more.
The relay kicks off in Corydon, which is significant as the state’s first capital, on Sept. 9, and finishes at the Statehouse in Indianapolis on Oct. 15.
