From Rockville to Bridgeton, 10 locations welcome visitors from across the country to enjoy the majestic covered bridges in Parke County at the Covered Bridge Festival.
The 10-day festival kicks off the second Friday of October, running Oct. 14-23, and is the perfect way to enjoy all things fall with arts and crafts, food and foliage throughout the county.
Each Parke County community has a specialty for the festival, such as Montezuma’s famous roast hog, Bridgeton’s historic district, Billie Creek Village’s three picturesque covered bridges and Rockville’s unique wood carving demonstrations. It’s a festival with something for everyone at each stop.
The Covered Bridge Festival is free to attend. However, festival hosts remind attendees it is a good idea to have cash on hand for the food and craft booths.
Looking for an easy way to tour the different festival locations? Flip a coin and decide which direction the bus tours should take you. With two bus routes, one north and one south, you can conveniently enjoy three hours of festivities for $30.
