Tuttle Orchards in Greenfield welcomes visitors for an agricultural experience with fall fun for everyone – a family tradition dating back more than 90 years.

A rarity in the early 1900s, Roy Tuttle decided to try out specialized farming, purchasing in 1928 enough apple trees to fill 10 acres. While most people thought he was crazy, his dream of owning a fruit farm came to life, with the trees yielding more than 700 bushels of apples annually by the late 1930s. Branching out into other fruits and vegetables, a family tradition was born. The farm was left to Roy’s daughter, Virginia Tuttle, who married her childhood sweetheart, Raymond Roney.

The Roneys still run the orchard today with Mike Roney and his daughter and son, Ruth Ann and Thomas – marking the fourth generation to work on the farm – leading the way.

My sisters and I are getting up in our years and with losing friends and family more each year, we have been trying to do more together. We have our Sisters Trips. We love apple Orchards, but have not had the opportunity to visit Tuttle’s. Please take my entry into consideration. Making Memories is our Motto. This would be a wonderful adventure and surprise for us! Thank you!

There’s just something special about orchards in the fall. Strolling through the trees, smelling that fruit, and enjoying the last of the summer heat on your shoulders is an experience everyone should make time to enjoy! Thanks, Tuttle Orchards, for providing such an opportunity to the public!
