Pardon Me: Indiana farmers twice raised the National Thanksgiving Turkey, a live turkey annually pardoned by the president of the United States. Indiana Farm Bureau Cooperative Association presented a live turkey to President Jimmy Carter in 1976, and Farbest Foods presented two – named May and Flower – to President George W. Bush in 2007.
