Mint facts

• Although Indiana ranks high in mint production, the crop’s acreage remains relatively small. The National Agricultural Statistics Service reports that Indiana growers harvested approximately 8,500 acres of peppermint and 3,700 acres of spearmint in 2014. (Compare that to the 5.85 million acres of corn harvested in Indiana each year.)
