As summer draws to a close, so goes with it the seasonal produce we love so much during those warmer months. And though we say goodbye to watermelons, fresh strawberries and blueberries, there are still plenty of fruits to enjoy in the coming autumn months. Apples, pears, cranberries and persimmons are dominant flavors in many autumn dishes, and with good reason. They tend to pair quite nicely with the cinnamon, pumpkin and other nutty spices that abound in our favorite fall drinks, desserts and meals. So don’t despair for the bygone fruits of summer. Instead, head to the kitchen and embrace the flavorful fruits of fall.
