Wick's Pies

Sugar cream pie is the state pie of Indiana, and many consider Wick’s version among the best. The Winchester-based company, which has been in the baking business for more than 60 years, uses a family recipe that dates back to the 19th century. Today’s pies are made from the same farm-fresh ingredients.

And Wick’s sells much more than its old-fashioned sugar cream pie to the food service and bakery industries and consumers. The company’s other mouthwatering pies include Southern pecan, pumpkin chess and peanut butter cream, to name a few.

When Wick’s started, it made 20 pies a day by hand. Today, the company produces more than 10,000 pies and more than 30,000 pie shells in an eight-hour shift, thanks to more than 75 employees.

You can visit Wick’s full-service restaurant in Winchester or purchase its pies online. Visit their website at wickspies.com.

And for even more Indiana sweetness, try making your own Sugar Cream Pie with a recipe from Nick’s Kitchen in Huntington.

I am shocked! I can not find the Wick’s already baked pie crust. No store in my area can get it in stock. It always make the perfect pies that you could be proud of! Have you stopped making them?
