Celebrate the Indiana Dunes’ rich biodiversity along the Lake Michigan shoreline at the annual Indiana Dunes Birding Festival in Chesterton. Every May, Indiana Dunes National Park welcomes visitors to enjoy this hot spot for migrant birds, with more than 200 species and 150 different events to help visitors see them.

The 2024 festival is May 16 through 19 and is expected to host more than 1,000 people from over 25 states. Lodging options are plentiful for out-of-town guests.
All proceeds benefit the Indiana Audubon Society, whose mission is to engage communities in the enjoyment of birds in their habitat through conservation, education and research. Registration starts on March 1 each year, and prices vary depending on your itinerary.
