The city of Fishers, about 25 minutes north of Indianapolis, opened a brand new farm park, grabbing the title of largest urban farm in the nation.

Located in the southeastern quadrant of 113th Street and Florida Road, the 30-acre Fishers Agripark is the product of a partnership between Fishers and Brandywine Creek Farms. BCF works to eliminate hunger through locally raised produce, and the new park will provide central Indiana with quality fruits and vegetables. A portion of all crops produced on the farm will be given back to the local community and distributed to food banks in the area.

The park is the largest in the country dedicated solely to a working farm and features crops, livestock, aquaponics, a farmers market and an outdoor classroom.

During the growing season, BCF’s Fishers Agripark will be open from dawn to dusk, and volunteers can plant and harvest produce with the goal of combating food insecurity.
