Double Banana Pudding Pie

Double Banana Pudding Pie

  • Bananas with no hint of green near the stem or just the smallest amount are best for this dessert. Fully ripened, soft bananas that have many black/dark spots on the peel are too mushy. Bananas with too much green will impart a slight bitter flavor.
  • Store bananas at room temperature. Refrigerating fully ripened bananas is okay, but the skin will turn black.
  • Using a slightly bigger purchased graham cracker crust (9 ounces) makes pie prep a little easier, but you can use the 6-ounce size if desired. Find all prepared graham crusts in the baking aisle.
  • Dad’s Double Banana Pudding Pie is the best of both worlds: pleasure/great taste with nutrient benefits! One slice counts toward daily fruit amount (bananas) and protein, calcium and vitamin D (from the milk).
  • Save a few calories and use light whipped topping.
