On Feb. 14, 1851, the Indiana General Assembly passed a law forming the State Board of Agriculture with the goal of creating the Indiana State Fair.
The first Indiana State Fair was held in 1852.
The inaugural Indiana State Fair was held in downtown Indianapolis in what is now Military Park.
