Each fall, Jay County celebrates its rich and colorful history during the Jay County Heritage Festival.

Held at the historical museum, visitors are invited to experience different demonstrations, exhibits and food options that center around one theme. This year’s theme is “Honoring Cincinnatus, Kiwanis, Lions, Optimist and Rotary” in recognition of these five local organizations’ tireless efforts to improve their communities, the state of Indiana and the world around them.

Other attractions include re-enactors, carriage rides, an old-time game area, and a unique assortment of crafts and artisan items. Food offerings include kettle-cooked ham and beans on Saturday and chili on Sunday.

The 2018 Jay County Heritage Festival takes place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 22, and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 23. The event is free and open to the public. To learn more, visit jaycountyhistory.org.
